For the second straight hour, the Air Quality Index (AQI) has measured below 100. This puts it in the "moderate" zone with the following health message:
Unusually sensitive people should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
AQI measured at 97 in Beaverton at 8:00 am. And then 90 at 9:00 am.
Given that Hillsboro is still reading at 155 and so is Portland (both were 156 at 8:00), we appear to be in a little pocket of improving air quality (you can see a picture here).
Taken all of these matters into account, we still feel as coaches that we made the right decision for our team this morning with the cancellation of practice. We also encourage anyone to workout indoors. TAKING THE DAY OFF FROM ACTIVITY IS NOT AN OPTION. The exercise bikes at Sunset are open and available. THPRD is an inexpensive option with high quality equipment including TREADMILLS (running is still the best way to get a workout today).
The workout can be found here.
Athletes should contact me with any questions. My phone number and email are in all the handouts to start the season.
PLAN ON PRACTICE TOMORROW AT 9:00 AM SHARP. THE ENTIRE TEAM WILL DO PUSH-UPS FOR ANYONE WHO ARRIVES LATE.
