Last week of the XC regular season

Please note that it will be COLD this week. Tuesday's forecast calls for high temps in the 40s with some wind. Wednesday will be chilly, too. But the sun will be out which means... perfect temperatures for distance racing.

Practices this week:

Monday: practice starts at 3:00, with practice concluding at 4:30 with a group dismissal.

Tuesday: we start with our usual meetings (2:40 girls, 3:00 boys) and will wrap up around 4:30 for all runners. The spaghetti dinner to be hosted in the team room at Sunset is one that the seniors hope ALL team members will attend. It is an annual tradition for seniors to give out awards to their teammates.

Wednesday is our league meet. The schedule is on This is the last race of the season for all but our state team (top 7 boys and top 7 girls, plus alternates). It is the best meet of the season for so many reasons. We hope to see everyone there!

Thursday we have a PR meeting at 2:40 pm for EVERYONE. Included in the meeting is team voting for season end awards (Most Valuable, Most Inspirational, Leadership, etc). The running portion of practice is open ONLY to the state team.

Friday starting Friday, practice is open only to the state team.

The state cross country championship is held at Lane Community College in Eugene on November 9. The race schedule for our teams:

2:55pm - 6A Girls 3:30pm - 6A Boys

We will have a "rooter bus" available to members of the team who are not competing. More details to come at our PR meeting on Thursday. Want more detail about the event? You can find some on the OSAA website.

Our End of Year Awards celebration is on Wednesday, November 13, at 6:30 pm in the school's upper commons. We sincerely hope that every member of the team will join us, including parents and other family members.

You can already see dates for next fall on the calendar, including the first day of practice (August 17) and first day of school (September 8).
